Linen Sheet Set
| |
A linen sheet set is a set of sheets that go on your bed -- underneath your
Cal king quilt or
other top bedding layer. The term “linen” is sort of a generic term that is used to describe
bedding that you use for sleeping. The term could be referring to any number of different materials
used to make bedding, including satin, cotton, polyester, or any of various other materials.
A lot of people buy linen sheet sets periodically. Some buy them every few
months, while others might only buy linens once per year! Most people have at least several sets of
sheets that they use for different occasions.
Some people have sets reserved for regular use, and also sets for guest bedroom
use or for other occasional needs of that nature. Buying linen sheets and sheet sets is pretty
simple, as there are four basic elements to it; these are size, quality, material, and price.
|
Probably the most important thing about buying linen sheet sets is the fact that you need the
right size. Even the most affordable, highest quality sheet set is going to be worthless if it is way too small for
your bed!
Linen sheets are usually sized in one of the following standard sizes....single, double, twin,
full, queen, or king. If you are not sure what size your bed is, measure it before buying sheets. Once you know
what size sheet will fit on your bed, you can just buy that size from now on. Having the right size is a very
crucial component to buying sheet sets.
Next you will probably want to look at the quality of the sheet set. Quality is usually assessed
through the thread count. The higher the thread count, the higher the quality. However, this also means that it
will be more expensive! In order to balance this out, try to buy a quality that is high enough for you to use
comfortably, but that is low enough to fit into your price bracket.
Some people do not want to spend a ton of money on high thread counts...however, to others, this
might seem like a very worthwhile tradeoff. You should buy the thread count that is best for you. Don’t worry about
buying inexpensive...even some linen sheets with a low thread count are comfortable.
Next, you will need to think about material. As stated before, linen sheets could refer to any
number of different materials, including cotton, satin, silk, or any types of artificial material. This term could
even refer to a blend of different materials. In order to find which material works best for you, you should try
out a variety of different kinds and continue buying the ones that you like the most.
And finally, you need to figure in the cost. As mentioned, cost is usually related to the thread
count...the higher the count, the higher the cost. You will most likely want to find sheets in your price range,
whether this means paying more for a high thread count or getting a linen sheet set that is very inexpensive.
